Who we are
The Global TB Caucus is a unique international network of political representatives with support in more than 150 countries. Today, the Global TB Caucus gathers more than 2500 members and helped launching 56 National TB Caucuses over the world.
Members of the Caucus adhere to the principles outlined in the founding document, the Barcelona Declaration.
In particular, members commit:
To working across geographical and political divides in a non-partisan and inclusive fashion;
To engaging with civil society and all other stakeholders involved in the fight against the TB epidemic; and
To confront stigma and social isolation associated with the disease.
Our History
2014
The Global TB Caucus was launched in 2014, by The Rt Hon Nick Herbert CBE MP, after many years of successful campaigning to the UK government, through the All Parliaments Parliamentary Group on TB in the British Parliament. Mr Jose Luis Castro, Executive Director of The Union, offered to host and fund a meeting at the World Lung Health Conference.
The Global TB Caucus project took another step forward when Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health for South Africa and Chairman of the Stop TB Partnership declared his support. Other political representatives from around the world agreed to attend the Summit or sent messages of support for the meeting in Barcelona.

Nick Herbert is the founder and Global Co-Chair of the Global TB Caucus and has been involved globally in the fight against TB for nearly a decade. He is a Member of the House of Lords in the United Kingdom Parliament.
Baroness Suttie
Alison Suttie is a Member of the House of the Lords in the United Kingdom Parliament and Co-Chair of the Western Europe region of the Global TB Caucus.
Hon Elma Dienda
Hon Elma Dienda is a Member of the Parliament of Namibia and a TB survivor. She is the Co-Chair of the Africa TB Caucus, as well as the President of the National Caucus of Namibia.
Senator Pierre Flambeau Ngayap
Honorable Pierre Flambeau Ngayap is a Senator of the Parliament of Cameroon. He is also the Co-chair of the Francophone linguistic region of the Global TB Caucus.
Hon Luís Gallo
Hon Luís Gallo is a Doctor and Member of Parliament of Uruguay, also President of the National TB Caucus and the Health Committee of the Parliament of Uruguay. He is the Co-Chair of the Americas TB Caucus.

Hon Congresswoman Angelina “Helen” Tan is a Member of the Parliament of the Philippines. She is the Co-Chair of the Asia Pacific region of the Global TB Caucus.
Hon Lada Bulakh
Hon Lada Bulakh is a member of Parliament of Ukraine. She sits in the Health Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament and is the head of the Ukraine National TB Caucus. She is the regional Co-Chair for the EECA region of the Global TB Caucus.

Hon ex-Congressista Luz Salgado is a former Member of Parliament of Peru . She was the President of Congress for 2016-2017, and is the Co-Chair of the Americas region of the Global TB Caucus.
